This project will elevate my students learning experiences by helping them learn to regulate their emotions. My students are diagnosed as having Autism, so majority of my students struggle emotionally. Several students have tantrums where they throw themselves on the floor. These squishy cuddle rope balls from Lakeshore would provide something comfortable for them to squeeze and hug when they are struggling with their emotions and feelings. Being able to comfort and soothe themselves will help them self regulate their emotions instead of relying on someone to start that process for them. This aligns with Nevada Academic Content Standards for social/emotional well being. All of my students have IEP goals for social/emotinal regulation.
