This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are Title I , special needs scholars working in a specialized academic instruction setting. My students disabilities range from deaf and hard of hearing, to autism , to specific learning disabilities , and auditory processing. My students don't come from money, often wearing the same clothes multiple times within a week. Despite it all, they have tremendous attitudes and come to school each day giving their best efforts. We utilize technology in the classroom and our kids love it. They are good with iPads and computers and also enjoy robotics. Our kids love to go hands on and are some of the most creative students at our school.

My Project

Every unit in language arts has a literature component. Students are required to write various types of essays. The green screen allows the students to act out their own interpretations of the stories we read in class. They can then take what they create and produce a mini film to present to the classroom for a participation and public speaking grade. The speech teacher will be coming in during the taping sessions to help the students with their speech goals by generalizing their goals in real life situations. The green suit will allow students to participate with props and not be seen.
