This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every student comes to school with baggage of their own. The loads they carry vary in shape and size, and sadly, some carry too heavy a load. Our school has received many clothing items and food donations to address the needs of students with limited resources in the community. Unfortunately, we do not have ample space to store all the donations received and launch our Crusader Closet.

Before a student can remember, understand and apply what they’re learning, their physiological needs, such as shelter, food and clothing must be met, and they must feel that they are safe, loved and that they belong.

The Crusader Closet aims to provide a safe space for students to access resources such as clothing, school supplies and food so that they can focus on learning.

The reality is that we must meet the needs in Maslow’s Hierarchy before any student can be successful in school.

This project is for three storage cabinets.
