My Students

Our students attend an inner-city school where approximately 90% live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning.

All of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches and participate in the backpack program on the weekends.

This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way.

My Project

Do you remember how fun it was to do hands on activities at school and then take home a book to read at night? My students love to work on math and having jumbo dice along with magnetic ten frames to practice our addition skills will make it so much more engaging. They can use the manipulatives to create a number sentence based on the die that they roll.

The book bags and rack will give us a designated space to hang out take home books and a sturdy bag to protect our book while it is at home.
