Help me give my students in our Chess Club 7 complete chess sets so they can learn to play a game that helps them develop foresight, and develop critical and strategic thinking.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is an early college CTE (career technical education) high school in its third year. Students who attend here do not have access to electives typical of traditional high schools: arts, music, sports. We have recently started a Chess club out of student interest; currently we have 11 members. We have one chess board set that has all of its pieces, and three others that are missing multiple pieces. One set is missing the board, so students use dry erase markers to draw a board on a table. The students in the club have been grateful for the donations of those games, but the sets are not really adequate for teaching others to play or even for regular gaming.
We have more students interested in learning to play chess, but we are limited in the numbers we can teach because we only have one complete set for playing.
My Project
Our early college CTE high school struggles to find activities for our students that are meaningful and fun--we do not offer the same electives as do traditional high schools in our areas, so we strive to find ways to offer activities that they ask for. Many of our students either play chess or want to learn, so we created a Chess Club to make that happen for them. Your support by purchasing 7 chess sets will allow all of our students to play during club time, as well as provide boards our students can use to develop critical thinking skills and teach one another chess skills. We are grateful for any support you could provide!
