Our school is an 100% ESE center school focusing on students with behavior concerns. In addition we are a Title I school with over 65% of our students coming from economically disadvantaged homes.
Our students have limited resources outside of school, so if it is not provided by the school during school hours they do not get the opportunity to participate.
We utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program school-wide and are looking for new and creative ways to rewards students.
My Project
We are requesting a Cricut and Cricut supplies to allow students to make personal items as an earned reward for good behavior! Our students have the opportunity to earn rewards and parties based on their behavior and meeting their personal goals. Students would enjoy the opportunity to make personalized school shirts, cups, and other items, as well as decorations for their phones, etc. In addition to a positive behavior incentive, our girls' group would also use it to make projects.
This project would benefit students beyond the behavior reward, as I would be happy to train other teachers in the building about how to use the software and machine to create their own signs and labels as needed.
We could also use this machine for student projects or other school-related beautification projects.
