Cricut Inspires an Entrepreneurial Mindset

Help me give my students a Cricut Maker, Easy Press, and tools, and vinyl to create their own projects for sale.

My Students

My students are amazing kids ranging from 6th-8th grade. They are curious about the world they live in and want to challenge themselves to become entrepreneurs in their community. These students may have some struggles in math, but they don't let those struggles define them. They are eager to find out how math can play a role in their lives besides just the computations they learn in the classroom.

My Project

My students participate in an intervention math class that serves as an elective for students who struggle in math. Their most frequent question is "when will I ever use this in the real world?" as we learn about solving equations and the Pythagorean theorem. This Cricut project will allow my students to explore their entrepreneurial spirit as they create projects they can sell at an end-of-year craft fair. Students will do the research necessary to determine the costs of the project and how much to charge to make a profit. Proceeds will be donated to a charity of the students' choice.
