Since these books are at a variety of interest and ability levels, my students will have the opportunity to find something they can read independently. By providing headphones, students can listen to a more challenging book than what they could read on their own. It can be hard to find books at your ability level if you are a struggling middle school reader. The library books tend to be at a higher level than what you can access. I want my classroom to make students feel empowered to read no matter their reading level.
