I am one of four kindergarten teachers in my building. Our district is in a rural setting with a range of socio economic levels. Some of my students have been in four year old pre school, others attended Head Start, for a few this is their first classroom experience.
I strive to make my classroom a place where children are exposed to a variety activities as they grow and develop their fine and large motor skills.
They are able to explore as they learn. Through play my students explore their world and gain valuable social skills. These materials will provide more options for dramatic and creative play.
My Project
These materials will give my students hands-on materials to help them learn and grow. Through creative play they will gain knowledge in engineering structures. My students will be able to learn about ramps and gravity as they use the marble works activity. Dramatic play with the dolls will enhance their language and social skills.
Since our district is in a rural area the farm set will allow students to identify farm animals and explore tasks farmers complete daily.
Magnetic blocks add to our science exploration. I have selected many materials that will help my students learn as they play. Their fine and gross motor skills will be further developed as they use the various items.
