My Students

The art classroom embodies imagination and creativity! In a small school district, the art classroom is visited weekly by K-6 grade students. My students get excited when they come into my room and are ready to start using their imagination as soon as they walk in. I have such a great group of students and it is my goal to build a relationship with all of them.

Students are learning that there is a connection between what they see in the outside world and art; which really excites me as an educator.

It is important for my students to learn different types of art and focus on artists' names and to learn a little bit about each one. I love that they become excited and exuberant to learn about art.

My Project

A document camera in an art room is a must have. When I'm teaching my K-6th grade students and demonstrating, it is difficult for every student to see what I'm doing. This camera would benefit all of my students by giving them the up close and personal view of what we are working on for each project (without my obstructing their view).

A document camera would change the way my students can learn and create in the art room!

I always feel bad when I'm demonstrating and a group of students can't see because there is no good angle for me to stand so that I'm not blocking all of my students in my large room. Being able to project what I'm doing up onto my large dry erase board will help all of my students to see each step.
