My students need a professional quality Apple IPAD Pro drawing tablet to develop industry standard job skills in computer graphics and digital photography.
The students in my current classes are so bright, creative and eager to express themselves through photography, drawing, painting, illustration and graphic design and to learn job related, industry standard skills. The ability to experience the creative possibilities of digital drawing and painting and add to their job related skill set would greatly benefit my students.
My students attend a school for Aerospace and Hydrospace Engineering, a diverse, inner city school in Bridgeport Connecticut.
70% of my students are from one of the lowest performing districts in the state, and resources are scarce.
My Project
My students are eager to learn state of the art digital drawing, painting and photo editing techniques as employed by professional artists, illustrators, graphic designers and photographers. They are currently working with laptop computers and I feel that the next step is to introduce them to the tools used by professionals in the creative and media fields. While I have 27 students per class and they would have to share one IPAD, they could at least experience the tools as used by professionals and realize the creative possibilities. My hope is to further spark their interest in career fields that they might not have been aware of or realized that they have a talent for.
I have had students arrive in my class without any knowledge of graphic design, photography or computer graphics and have discovered a passion for these subjects as well as new career possibilities.My students have the talent and intelligence to be future leaders in these fields and I would love to expand on their experience and knowledge with the addition of the limitless creative possibilities of this wonderful drawing tool.
