This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with young three and four-year-old students to help them become acclimated to school and begin building those lifelong skills they will continue to use for the rest of their lives. My students come from a variety of different backgrounds, socio-economic areas and often face different adverse childhood experiences. I work with all my students to help them develop a love for learning and ignite a sense of excitement in them to continue to explore their interests.
My students are looking forward to continuing to build positive relationships with their peers and become strong, independent learners.
I encourage my students to excel and succeed through different opportunities for exploration. My classroom goal is to ensure that all students are actively engaged and invested in their learning experiences. We work hard as a community of learners to support, play and learn from one another every single day.
My Project
Providing a safe, clean, and organized classroom will ensure that my students are able to create or explore to the best of their abilities on a daily basis. The materials for this project will help provide my students with a variety of different materials to ensure they are able to use their imagination on a daily basis. The organizational materials will ensure that all materials have a designated spot within my classroom so that all students are able to readily access the materials they need.
Creativity through imagination is key to early childhood development, as they begin to explore and achieve different tasks.
Through the ability to create with their imaginations, students are working to build their knowledge of the world, and create their own realities. Their imaginations are the stepping stones to building their own dreams and personal goals.
