My Project

My students need the access to craft supplies to build their fine motor skills in a way that is fun, engaging and teaches sharing. These learners are a diverse group of Kindergarten-2nd grade special education students in an Autistic Support Classroom. Fine motor skills are an area most of my classroom needs to strengthen through this work with me and with our Occupational Therapist. We are working on building a community of learners and having positive outlooks towards school.

My students have the drive but we need additional tools to help us to be successful!!

We work together to create a classroom environment where each student shows and feels success. The tools that I am requesting will allow students to create and build fine motor skills in a variety of ways: painting, cutting, peeling sticker backs, etc. We currently have some objects to build fine motor muscles, but find that students are more engaged when we are making crafts together. These supplies are a great way to bring fun into learning and strengthening necessary life skills. Having the opportunity to learn in this way helps to build vocabulary and teach skills like sharing and asking for objects you need.
