Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have students with a wide array of needs in my classroom. These include those who have been identified with special needs, to those who are English Learners and also include those who have anxiety when talking. To help encourage student participation, whiteboards allow students an opportunity to participate without worry of a wrong answer, and keeps them engaged.

Mini whiteboards are a fun and creative way to engage students in classroom discussions as well as helps me to do quick checks for understanding.

While there are a lot of ways to do this on technology, this gives students an opportunity, at least sometimes, to unplug but not have to lose the opportunity to feel comfortable participating in class. This also gives students an opportunity to practice writing skills and for my EL students to practice their English words.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
