Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching first graders is one of the most rewarding experiences! These kids are kind, caring and so excited to learn about the world around them. They are at different levels of academic, emotional and social growth and come from various backgrounds but we have built a great classroom community and we all care about one another.

We are a family in our classroom and students are often heard encouraging their classmates and cheering them on.

With all that's been happening in our world, some of these kids are coming to school feeling more anxious and nervous than in years before so creating a loving, caring environment has allowed them to feel safe and that 'learning from our mistakes' is something we all do.

My Project

These Cray-Pas and paper art supplies will help us grow and develop our creativity as we explore our talents and enjoy the time we spend together. We will learn about ourselves as we make self-portraits, learn about animals and create pictures of them, draw the world around us as the seasons change and many other various projects as we continue to develop as life-long learners.

Students can relax, unwind and feel less anxious when they are free to create, using mediums that they haven't had the opportunity to use before.

They will be able to use these oil pastels and try different techniques and tools to blend colors together, use the bold colors to express their feelings and emotions, and use their creativity to express their ideas through art.
