Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are joyful, creative, and resilient children who deserve a summer filled with opportunities to learn, create, and simply enjoy being kids. As the school year comes to a close, many of my students will spend much of their summer indoors and close to home. I want to help provide them with comforting, engaging activities they can enjoy throughout the break.

This project will provide students with summer activity kits filled with coloring books, markers, art supplies, books, games, and small individually packaged snacks.

These materials will encourage creativity, independent play, literacy, and meaningful family time while helping students stay engaged during the summer months.

For many families, enrichment opportunities and extra summer resources can be difficult to access. Having special items of their own to color, read, and enjoy can make a meaningful difference in a child’s daily routine and emotional wellbeing. Even small comforts, like a favorite snack while drawing or reading, help children feel cared for and celebrated.

My hope is that every student leaves my classroom feeling supported not only academically, but also emotionally and personally. These kits will remind students that their school community continues to care for them long after the final school bell rings.
