Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from an inner city school and are from low income families. Our school has a poverty rate of over 96%. The students need these materials to keep them organized in the classroom. Our school serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and provide rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.
The opportunities and achievement gaps our apparent among our student population.
Teachers are expected to deliver excellent instruction in science, math, English and social studies without the requisite tools to teach our students.
My Project
My students need these floor seats so they can have place to sit rather than at their desks for their creative writing work.
I haven't mastered the art of sitting and smiling.

With these floor seats, my students will have flexibility seating anywhere in the classroom where they can work on their creative writing. They can move these seats around and with the cushioned back support it will adjust to the perfect position. They can lay flat for easy storage and not take up too much space in the classroom! Which also makes them easy to move around and even if needed to use in another space in the school.
