This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The school I teach at is a Title I-funded school, and the majority of our families are considered low-income. These supplies help take the burden of purchasing new supplies off of the families and make it so all students have exactly the same supplies to use each day. These materials will help my students be successful at completing tasks and learning at school.
I work with a diverse population of students with varying needs and who benefit from interactive lessons and materials.
The supplies that are being requested include graphing paper and graph pads, a small set of Scientific calculators to replace a number of broken ones, a classroom laminator for students to laminate important documents and work samples and laminating pouches. Also included are some household supplies like, tissues, paper towels, and Clorox wipes to sanitize desks and surfaces during cold and flu season, when building janitors are unavailable at such quick notice.
