Creative Supplies For Creative Minds

My students need art supplies and play dough for fine motor skills. My students are all special needs children who gets joy out of creating art work.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Some of these challenges could be compensated for if we had the supplies needed for them to grow. Being in a low-income school Special Education students tend to be overlooked. My students are overlooked a lot because of how low functioning they are.

I am a multiple disabilities support teacher for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 grade; however, these children are at a functional level of an infant to 3-year-old age range.

My students have many different physical and mental needs. I just want to give them the best chance they can have when it comes to learning and growing.

My Project

These materials will help my students with fine motor and sensory skills. My students learn better doing art work then just listening. They have severe learning disabilities which impair their learning. Having these materials will help my students with sensory input, helping to claim them down for the rest of the school day.

My students have special needs and thrive doing sensory activities.

Their faces light up when they complete projects. They love using paint and other things with their hands, which allows them to finish art projects independently. Also using paint, play dough and other supplies help with occupational skills.
