Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a close community of learners who are growing both academically and in their social emotional selves. Early childhood takes learning seriously, but a huge part of that is creating kind, self-regulating and respectful citizens.

Learners in our classroom become leaders, teachers, nurturers and friends.

They take these skills to their homes, their future classrooms and into their adult lives.

It is a calling to facilitate their learning and to model the kind of citizenship we hope to see in the future!

My Project

Pretend and learn center is a favorite center in our classroom, but I don't want it to become one-dimensional. Children put on a hat and their imagination takes over! They pick up a purse to become their mom or a fire fighter coat to become a hero. Students become someone from their daily life or dream of who they'll be in the future. However, young children use creative play for even more. It helps to process events in their lives in a non stressful environment. Our pretend and learn center is a safe place to act out life with friends. I'd like to give my students tools for this expression.
