My Students
Little students are my favorite. Teaching first grade this year, I love the fact that I can spend the whole school day with the same students. It allows me to get to know each of them personally. In the short amount of time that I have known them, I've learned that one girl has extreme anxiety. Another student struggles with autism and the only thing he is willing to do is video games. Other students are English Language Learners who need more guidance.
Despite our differences, we have created our own classroom community.
In building this community, I realize how important it is for my students to learn how to be accepting of each other and learn how to cope with the pandemic. We need access to more Chromebooks in our classroom because the school doesn't have enough for every child to have his/her own.
My Project
Because our elementary school is doing a combination of online and in-person learning, we need access to Chromebooks. Eleven of my first graders do not have access to a Chromebook at home for their online learning. Our school will provide Chromebooks to as many students as they can until our resources run out.
Our elementary school serves over 1000 students.
We want all of our students to succeed at school and at home. In order for this to happen, we need to provide our kids with access to technology, like Chromebooks, to help them be successful in their education at home as well as at school.
Every child counts; therefore, every Chromebook counts.
