Creative Minds and 3D Designs

Help me give my students the ability to take design to a new level. Students will be able to use different online programs to design 3D models to print!

My Students

My students come from a small rural community. Basic supplies like paper, pencils and textbooks are provided. My students do not have 1:1 devices as many other districts have, instead we use hands on learning as an approach to engage them.

My students love the use of technology and other non textbook resources in a lesson and become intrigued so easily by it.

A simple lesson can really blossom when the right tools are available for students and they can use their minds to come up with explanations and creations.

My Project

The students have been using 2D design since they were little to show their creativity and imagination. Since technology is advancing so rapidly in the real world- it is time to advance it within the school as well.

The students will be using their creativity to design a 3D model using computer software and then be able to print their product.

This will allow them to not only think critically about shapes, placement and measurement- but also allow them to create something that will become concrete instead of just on paper.

Students can connect their projects to needs of our community or tie it into something they have previously learned about.
