I work in a co-taught Learning Support classroom. In this classroom we often deal with students who have been "labeled" as troublemakers, unmotivated, etc. A lot of the students have in their mind that this is who they are because they over the years are given less and less of an opportunity to show and prove who they really are and what they can do. I would love for them to have second chance and feel better. In our school we group the students by ability. Therefore the students who are in the "lower" level class tend to just move along year after year in this class together. This causes a lot of behavior issues. These students can obtain so much more than they are given the opportunity too, but they also need encouragement and most importantly self esteem.
