I am so fortunate to have the privilege of spending my days with a class of vivacious kindergarten students on a year-long journey full of fun, learning, and lots of growth!
My kindergartners are dynamic; their zest for learning and life motivates me to provide the most engaging educational experiences possible for them during each and every school day!
These bright and busy boys and girls each come to our classroom with different backgrounds and will access a multitude of tools daily to support them in being the strongest and most successful learners they can be!
On behalf of my kindergarten students, I am seeking tools to help us successfully create safe and fun experiences during both indoor and outdoor recess time. While the requested tools will be incredibly beneficial to us during our daily recess, they will also be used elsewhere throughout our days together. For example, the crayon sets can be used to replenish individual student coloring supply kits as necessary.
Living in the state of Maine, we are subject to incredibly cold, snowy and icy weather conditions in the winter which can strike suddenly and often.
When the weather becomes too cold or tumultuous, we stay inside for recess which necessitates engaging tools to support students in using their energy in healthy and creative ways within the warmth of our classroom. The requested books, toys and tools will help us have what we need for a fun recess if we are inside. The resources also support our multidisciplinary units involving animal research, construction and engineering. As examples, my students will be able to use the cardstock paper for art projects, the toothpicks to engineer 3D shapes, buildings and animal shelters, and the construction vehicles, mat and Play-Doh to create replicas of the homes, bridges and other architecture that they read about in the requested books such as "Wild Buildings and Bridges." These books, toys and tools will be used in many ways!
In addition to indoor recess resources, I have also requested a set of mittens to have at my access to give to kindergarteners in need. When we are able to go outside, these mittens will keep little fingers warm while my students play in the snow!
With your help, our daily recess time will be filled with creativity and fun -- whether inside or outside! Thank you in advance!
