Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like on your very first day of school? Were you nervous, anxious, or scared? By providing children with an inviting atmosphere and an abundance of resources they will love to come to school and learn.

My students will be coming to school for the first time.

They are in kindergarten! My students have special needs and are classified with a variety of learning disabilities. I am a teacher in New York. Many of my students speak English as their second language. They need your support to be successful during their first year of school!

My Project

If you decide to fund my project the students in my class will be surrounded with a beautiful and warm classroom atmosphere. The colorful and comfortable math and reading rugs will provide the class for a place to meet and discuss new learning experiences. It will also allow for small group learning and social interaction to take place. The books that I have requested will be specifically linked to the kindergarten curriculum and will allow for a print and literature rich environment. The children will benefit from story time by listening to books that support phonics and problem solving. Students will feel excited to come to school and to be a part of an inviting learning community.

It is so important to make little kids feel comfortable at school and to give them an abundance of resources to learn from.

Kindergarten is a time to learn to adapt to new environments. If the environment is inviting and filled with an abundance of resources children will excel in learning. Thank you for considering funding my project and for helping students with special needs adjust to their new school setting.
