This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the 2nd grade teacher to some of the most amazing children in the world! My scholars are intelligent, curious, and creative! Most of my students love hands on learning and creating projects!
All of my students are participants of the International Baccalaureate-Primary Years Program, where inquiry based learning is essential to their academic growth.
They enjoy researching and inquiring about the world around them and beyond! My students are energetic and eager to learn new things each day!
My Project
The art materials will be used for projects. We are an International Baccalaureate School and creativity is one of our PYP Attitudes that students are expected to exemplify. My 2nd graders will be able to have choices with how they want to create their final projects at the end of our Units of Inquiry. Some examples of projects we do in 2nd grade include: making landform models, measurement monsters, culture displays, art projects during the holidays, and many other projects that connect to what the students are leaning. The balance balls will help students focus during learning by giving them flexibility.
