My Project

I love working with my second graders at LES. We are the second most diverse, public elementary school in our state in addition to having a Title I status. My students are so happy to have your help extending our upcoming geography unit into a creative expression of the land and water forms we see on our planet.

After learning the names of our Earth's many land and water forms, my students can identify a wide variety of biomes on our planet.

With all of their new knowledge, the materials listed for this project will allow them to create a landscape illustrating a particular landscape. As they use the high-quality paper to re-create my teacher made examples identifying hills, volcanos, mountains, cap rocks, tributaries and atolls, for example, they will then enjoy seeing their drawings come to life using the colored pencils. I can not explain the revelry that will ensue once I show them that these pencils also become paint with a bit of water, one of our precious resources.

It is my goal to provide high quality materials for my students to take pride in their work, to serve as a point of interest keeping engagement high as well as to refine their fine motor skills while fostering concentration and creativity ! I love being a teacher and thank you for your consideration.
