My Students

I have a wonderful group of 24 very curious, active, amazing students. I have 12 boys and 12 girls. They are inquisitive, creative and fantastic. They are a great group and work well together.

My students are a wonderful group of students from diverse backgrounds.

My class is made up of students that receive free or reduced lunch, special ed students including students with autism, and gifted and talented students. We are a well-rounded class. Even more importantly, we are a family!

My Project

Assessing students in non-traditional ways can be very exciting and fun! I like to use play-doh during our plants and animals unit. Students have the opportunity to "show what they know" by creating a habitat that includes plants and animals. The students are responsible for showing how the plants and animals adapt to the environment. My students also prepare and print out a speech to explain their habitat. They become "experts" on the subject. This project is probably one of the favorite projects that we do during the school year and it is definitely the one that keeps them the most engaged.
