it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am truly fortunate, overjoyed and lucky to work with groups of diverse and unique students every day. All of my students are proud of their accomplishments but also struggle with their weaknesses. This school year, I want my students to be successful in as many creative, mind-on, hands-on and higher level thinking activities as possible.
My teaching career has been, and will continue to be, the most amazing roller coaster ride.
I have been fortunate to teach professionally for 33 years at over four schools and over 4 grade levels. I have had many challenges and more successes with my profession. Students that I work with lack the opportunities to develop those creative skills that will help them to become better problem solvers. This school year, I have been able to work full time with students from a grade span of third through fifth. I have met so many great teachers that I love to work with and learn from. The accomplishments of all the students in my classes keep me going and I am happy to continue to improve myself as a teacher for them.
My Project
I am requesting funds to attend a conference on Creating and use of Innovation with students. The use of innovation helps with differentiated instruction. As you know differentiated instruction is the practice of adjusting your teaching to meet the needs of different individual students or groups of students. This three-day conference will provide me with invaluable information that I will be able to take back with me to improve my practice when school resumes in the fall. My students will benefit because a new lens of learning will be added to current instructional practice to ensure all students have equal opportunities to learn. I will be able to create activities that best support the learning of each student in my classroom using the information I learn.
This conference will allow me to help my students to develop skills to take chances to create and use innovation to help solve problems.
The knowledge that I learn from this conference will allow me to help countless learners increase their knowledge by providing them with opportunities that have escaped them in the past. The hope is a systemic change will take place once other teachers see the possibilities and achievement of my students. Thank you for considering supporting my project.
