I have the joy and appreciation to coach and teach at I. High school (survivors of hurricane Irma). The students are part of and represent a community composed of migrants and farm workers. 100 percent of the school's students qualify for percent free and reduced lunch. English is a second language in a majority of homes in this farming community. Teachers work extra hard to prepare their students to pass standardized testing and must overcome many obstacles in the process. A lot of times the teachers are the parent, mentor, and life-extension of the child.
These materials will all help my students to build speed, all the while separating themselves from the competition in sports. Speed is a crucial component in health education. With this project, my students will use the plyo-boxes to demonstrate and mimic explosive motions that will translate to the field, and ultimately aid them in their success as athletes. Secondly, students will use parachutes as a form of resistance to be stronger, faster, and powerful in movement consistently. Furthermore, speed ladders will aid them in their foot placements utilizing the best of force exertion, which will make them run faster. Also, the donation of the speedsac will allow training indoors during the rainy Florida weather.
Speed is a necessary component in athletics.
With this donation, I can successfully coordinate a speed program for my athletes. From speed cones to the speed chute, my athletes will be in shape. Furthermore, creating small circuits with high energy movement for my student-athletes. With this donation, I am more than ready to create an environment of speed for my young athletes.
