Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A classroom can't only have books and pencils, especially not a special education classroom. We've added sensory items and toys, and our next step is to add things to make our classroom safer.

Students need to be able to roll, climb, and move the way their bodies need but in a SAFE space.

The list compiled in this project includes items that will be additions to our sensory centers in our classrooms. Bean bags are create a tactile input that can decrease stress reactions. Weighted items give pressure stimulation which aids emotional regulation. The arch rocker and climber gives students a safe piece of equipment to climb on or rock in instead of climbing furniture. Our interlocking mats will provide cushioning around our center to keep our students safe during their explorations.
