Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember how hard it was to write an essay in school? Didn't you always wish there was another way? With digital cameras my students will be able to create their own stories through multimedia projects.
My students are in a Title 1 public school and are a mix of many ethnic groups.
Many of their parents are both working just to make ends meet. Therefore many of these students have not had the opportunities to create these kinds of multimedia projects. My goal is to introduce them to the art of telling stories through media. They will come up with the ideas, plan, and organize their story in order to express their feelings.
My Project
Not all storytelling, especially in this technological age, should be told with pencil and paper. Children need other ways to express themselves, and multimedia projects are creative and special way to do that in the classroom. This is a way for children to make their voices heard in a fun and creative way.
My classroom needs digital cameras for the students so that they may enrich their learning by including the multimedia approach that is and will be so prevalent in the future.
This exploration in learning will give them another avenue for their creativity. I can't wait to see what they come up with!
