Help me give my students Spanish novels that are designed for their reading level. These novels will be used in our classroom library. During our reading time students can choose a book and enjoy while learning Spanish!
My students have a special place in my heart because I have returned to teach at the district that I grew up in. My students come from various backgrounds due to our large district. Most students live in rural parts of our district where knowing two languages isn't the norm.
My students are respectful, responsible, resilient life-long learners who are ready for the world.
They have goals and futures that can be impacted by learning another language. Most of my students have said, "learning Spanish will help me with my future career.¨
My students are excited to learn and consistently amaze me by their capabilities to grow and become a better person every day. I love teaching them and they bring me so much joy!
My Project
These novels will be used during our Free Voluntary Reading time, 1-2 times a week. Reading provides multiple opportunities for students to learn a foreign language in a stress free space and at their own pace. Students will be able to read what they choose and enjoy their options. These novels are specifically created and designed for beginning Spanish learners who are in middle or high school.
My goal is to provide as many different opportunities to explore books in Spanish that interest my students.
With this opportunity student can explore culture and other Spanish speaking places as well as make so many connections with the characters and story lines that interest them. I can´t wait to see their faces when our class library is filled with these various types of novels.
