Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"I need a pencil, please." This is a sentence that I hear all the time in my classroom followed by "My mom can't afford it."

My school is located in a low socio-economic area.

The students are smart with a hunger to learn. However, due to budget constraints they do not have access to basic resources that other students in the county would. It would be wonderful to be able to bring more innovative learning in their lives. Thank you.

My Project

"My laptop just died." This is a common occurrence where laptops are old and unable to meet the needs of a classroom. Although born in the "technology era" my students have almost no access to technology. Our classrooms aren't set up to meet the needs of the students. The iPads will help to bridge the gap a little.

The iPads will be used for researching STEM projects, for small group rotations, as well as creating their own movies (using the iMovie app).

Our school's focus is on the Media Arts and what could be better than being able to create their own movies!
