I am teaching in a brand new Intensive Learning Support class for 5 to 8-year-old students. My students have a variety of disabilities but they are all full of enthusiasm and excitement for learning! Many of them come from economically disadvantaged homes. In our school, parents value a good education for their child.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
Every day they come to school ready and eager to learn. They learn best through exploration and hands-on activities.
I will use the Addition, Subtraction and Comparison Instant Centers to give my students hands-on materials in order to explore new math concepts. My students learn best when working individually and centers are a perfect way to engage them. The Geometric Solids and Geostix will help my students to visualize and explore difficult concepts in Geometry. The Ten Frames will help them to better understand larger numbers.
Math is an important part of every day life.
Each day I try to give my students fun, engaging activities to help open up their minds to new math concepts. I want math to be fun so that they are willing to stretch their brains.
