Help me give my students opportunities to express themselves with different types of materials such as, markers, colored pencils, construction paper and paint and googly eyes.
I get the privilege of working with 5- and 6-year-olds five days out of the week. They come from very diverse backgrounds, but all have the same eagerness to learn new concepts.
I have students every year from every economic background.
I love greeting the students each morning and seeing the excitement and desire that they have for learning. Through this project, I am wanting to pique interest in their creative side.
My Project
Students in early childhood learn through a variety of ways. This project is solely devoted for creative arts such as drawing, painting, visualizing and creating art with materials that students do not get a lot of exposure to.
It gives students opportunities to express their ideas in unique ways using the colored pencils, markers and paint to show diverse perspectives from where they come from.
It also helps students develop new skills for learning such as, spacial awareness, textures, lines, fine motor skills, confidence, new vocabulary, proportions, shapes, persevering, collaboration, problem solving and storytelling.
