Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach reading to struggling first and second graders at a charter school.

Anticipating our nonfiction unit, I would love to have a large selection of books my students could choose from that are intriguing and engaging, I want them to look forward to their reading block because of the books they will shop for are to learn new things and generate questions about each new topic they study.

The books I have selected are a starting point for our nonfiction unit. They will enable students to work independently or in reading clubs to extend their learning and spark their curiosity.

Your help will ensure that my students have a large selection to draw from to develop the skills and strategies necessary to teach our nonfiction unit of study.
