Welcome to Kindergarten! My students come to school excited for each day. They work hard, are kind, and love learning! Many of my students arrive not knowing letters or numbers but quickly begin to grow like flowers because of their great enthusiasm for learning.

Many of my students come from low socioeconomic families with very diverse cultural backgrounds.
We are special because, in our classroom, everyone is welcomed and loved! Everyone is challenged to be the best they can be, everyday!
In our classroom, we begin the day as a loving, kind community with relaxation time which includes; breathing, meditation and kindness songs. This helps us to release any stress and be ready for a day of learning.
My students are happiest when they are singing and moving! We sing and move often throughout our day to learn many things.
They also display total enthusiasm for all things STEM! I see big smiles and hear cheers, and comments such as; “Wow this is awesome!” when using technology or building materials in our classroom.
My Project
Help us become Kindergarten engineers! My students go crazy for STEM Building Time when they get to become creative engineers, using their imaginations to build anything in their wildest dreams. My students shine with their collaborative teamwork skills as they work together to plan, design, redesign and build. They learn to communicate, cooperate, share, and problem solve while building. They also learn to preserve and build resilience through their problem solving.

We would love to have an Engineering Center that has a endless supply of building materials.
Some of our favorite creative building materials are PicassoTiles Magna-Tiles, Plus-Plus Blocks. and Tinker Toys. We are in need of more of these materials so we can build our imaginative, creative structures without running out of building materials.
PicassoTiles Magna-Tiles are large clear magnetic tiles of various shapes and colors that will allow us to easily build large 2D and 3D structures. Plus-Plus Blocks are small puzzle like pieces, of various colors, shaped like two plus signs that allow us to build mini 2D and 3D structures and images similar to mine-craft. Tinker Toys are a great old school engineering toy with limitless possibilities.
