Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a kindergarten teacher with 24 general ed. students and mainstreaming 8 students from our special day class. We currently have a classroom that functions around assigned seating and leaves little to no room for exploration in the way my students need. Students thrive through sensory learning at this age and often are more engaged when their sensory needs are met. The current setup of the classroom limits our ability to engage in activities that support the development of cooperative learning and community building.

My goal is to create a classroom that not only models equity in access to learning but also equity in learning outcomes.

The Cosy Tuff Spot Adjustable Height Stand and Tuff Spot Tray, will help us accomplish this!

I love seeing the creative ways my students utilize different materials. I would add different building stations using various materials as well as water stations accompanied by different materials that allow the students to explore. I will also use them as literacy and math stations using manipulatives for hands on learning.
