Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

During the school year, I make sure to tackle Ancient History with lots of hands-on experiences. We have built a 7 foot pyramid, made a marble run aquaduct, and built replicas of the Great Wall of China. We have even made cuniform tablets!

Students remember the experience of creating.

I am seeking help purchasing a number of classroom supplies such as poster boards, markers, paintbrushes, and clay. So far, the majority of our materials and supplies have come from my own pockets. However, this has limited which projects I am able to allow my students to do and how elaborate we can be with the small amount of supplies I can afford.

My students are creative and talented. I want them to have fun in Social Studies and to experience Ancient History in a rewarding and meaningful way. STEAM concepts and activities not only engage all of my students but they allow my exceptional learners to thrive in my classroom.
