Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember all the RED marks your teacher tread upon your wonderful stories in school. Well, no longer with Writer's Workshop! However, teachers need mentor text to model and inspire students' writing. I have requested 23 highly recommended literature books.
Students at our school are living in tough times, as most of us all.
However, school should remain a place to grow, prosper, and give hope for the future. Our kids need role models. Our kids need to feel they have a place in the world now and in the future.
My Project
Writing is a way to reflect, hope, dream, express, and . . . grow. Let's inspire through writer's that have accomplished such expression. Let's help kids share their ideas, emotions, and life experiences through writing with writer's as their inspiration. Writer's Workshop is a wonderful curriculum!
But it can only be effective with the tools to run it. BOOKS . . . our school, city, and teacher's hometown library can not fulfill this need. Books are checked out, lost, or not even available. We need accessible mentor text to model good writing!
