As a teacher from a low income, high poverty school district, it is difficult to bridge students’ knowledge to Nevada’s high expectations. From my three years of experience within this school district, I have learned that the students are eager to learn, but lack the confidence and motivation to do so. When students come to school having more experiences and challenges that most adults have, I would love to be able to have something for them to look forward to each day.
My students are bright, eager to please, and ready to excel!
Most students in my school district are living on a day-to-day basis at home. They are concerned about family members, food, and housing. These circumstances prevent students from being fully engaged in learning inside or outside of the classroom. Being able to provide students with resources that are not readily available to them at home will help increase their motivation and abilities. Showing students what they are capable of will help show them a brighter future as well as boost their self-confidence. I want to help brighten each student’s day, lead them to success, and be able to motivate them for future endeavors!
My Project
The printing materials requested will help not only students, but also several teachers present projects and provide materials for learning in a more depth and meaningful way.
Neither teachers or students see in only black and white, so why should we limit our children's creativity to just this?
Students who use the printer will be able to express themselves through their writing as well as presentations. Being able to print their hard work in color will help motivate students to go the extra mile on their final copies. Their writing will be able to come alive for all to see!
Teachers will be able to print in color knowing that the students will be able to see pictures as well as data clearly without any confusion. While learning new vocabulary, visuals are very important- especially for students learning English. Being able to show children a clear picture of what is being taught will help them understand more clearly than ever!
Helping out my students as well as other teachers will help everyone learn about our beautiful world that is full of color!
