My Students

My first graders are special in so many ways! They are hands on and have such a joy for learning. Our students look forward to coming to a safe and loving classroom every day. It is my goal to create a classroom community in which they learn more than just the standards that need to be taught. In first grade, we make learning purposeful and my students learn through doing. Their smiling faces light up my life every day and making a difference in their life is my ultimate goal!

My Project

Classroom community and "circle time" is extremely important in first grade. We meet several times a day together in one spot to have meetings, learn new standards or to simply read a book. Having a classroom carpet would allow my students to have a sense of classroom community. This would also give them a chance to have their own "spot" in my classroom that they can call their own during these very important times of the day. This classroom carpet would unit us as a class and also help with behavior. Thank you, in advance, for your gracious help for our classroom!
