My Students
My students come to my classroom excited about making music every day! They are creative, motivated, and driven to create a musically excellent product.
Our classroom is a second family for our students - the band family!
We learn together, grow together, and help each other get better by giving encouragement where it is needed. What we do in our room reaches far beyond the classroom, and the students are eager to use music to help them become productive members of our community.
My Project
We will be using Korg Tuners with microphone clips in our classroom to help new instrumental music students be more aware of what pitch they are producing and whether it is in tune or not. Young musicians are developing their 'musical' ear and having a visual reassurance that they are producing the correct pitch is a confidence builder! The microphone clips allows the tuner to 'hear' only the instrument that it is hooked onto when a full group is playing together.
Many of our students do not own smart devices that can download apps which can accomplish this tuning aspect of becoming a great musician.
These Korg Tuners will be used in real-time during rehearsals so students can be confident in their ability!
