Help me give my students the opportunity to use their creativity and create things throughout the year to supplement our writing and reading activities. For example: When we publish a narrative, I encourage the students to create art.
My students are unique because they all have such diverse backgrounds. I have bilingual students, multi-race ethnicity, and children from foster care as well. My class is outgoing and love taking risks. I love teaching them that they can learn so much more with a growth mindset in life.
My Project
I will use these materials to enhance the students' creativity when reading literature and writing. I will use the materials to allow the students to express themselves with art to coincide with their writings or literature that we read. For example: when they write about the fall season, we can create an illustration or painting to express themselves.
Research show that students remember and learn concepts by doing things that help them connect their thoughts, ideas, and life to their work.
I believe that they can do this through artistic expression to supplement their writing.
