Not brave enough to be in theater, not musically inclined, and not interested in drawing or sculpture? Need a Fine Arts credit to graduate, but there's no great "fit" for you-until now! If we had cameras, these students could fit right in to Photography for a Fine Arts credit!
Our students come from a wide variety of social-economic levels, and from all races and nationalities.
Many students are hoping to be college-bound, but money is tight. We strive to give every student the chance at a college degree. While this is a noble goal, many students find it difficult to meet all the financial needs presented to them, including purchasing a camera. In order to take the Photo for Fine Arts class, students must buy a digital camera, but this puts a strain on many of our families' budgets. If we had cameras to check out to students for use at school, many more students could take this new course.
My Project
With these four high-megapixel, great quality cameras, our students could learn to shoot great images, use Photoshop software, and learn to communicate their ideas visually. In every career field, skills with a camera come in handy. Realtors, Public Relations Directors, Insurance Agents, Journalists, even office workers can use the skills we teach to make their ideas come to life, to convince bosses of the validity and uniqueness of their proposals.
The course we are offering is new to our campus, and with the economy limiting resources all around, we desperately need cameras for students to share.
By taking this new Photography for Fine Arts course, students will learn skills that will help them in life and are talents they cannot really learn in other courses at our school. Please help us kick start this new course!
