Our yearbook is a national-award-winning student publication, and because of this, student editors are invited to attend many local, state and national journalism conventions and workshops. While at these conferences, the students get a chance to brainstorm and create new ideas for the publication. If we had iPads for students to use while on these trips, they could keep in contact with staffers not able to attend the trip. Our yearbook students could also let our school community share in what they are learning through the use of Skype, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Having iPads to use on these trips would mean students at the workshops could collaborate with the rest of the staff, back in the classroom, in real time. More students could participate, sharing ideas, inspirations and creations in a direct link from the workshop to the classroom back at home. All can share the excitement of creating memories!
