My students have varying forms of learning disabilities. Eager to come to school every day, my students require an "out of the box" approach to education. In order to keep my students coming to school, the school is set up as a vocational training site. This style of education gives students skills to enter the workforce with. Often judged by the world for being labeled as an individual with a learning disability, my students need individuals in their lives who will always be there for them and show them that through hard work, you can get what you want! As part of our students' Life Skills education, they execute the daily culinary tasks of Lillian's Bistro, which involves the final meal preparation, such as providing customers with a nicely chilled drink. With these custom-made aprons, our students work site will gain an identity that gives them a sense of pride.
My students need custom printed aprons to create an identity for their work site which is known as Lillian's Bistro. As part of everyday instruction, our students execute a wide variety of recipes as part of their curriculum. While conducting end of the year, customer exit surveys, our customers pointed out that our students do not have specialized clothing to wear while working. Unfortunately, we have old, stained cooking clothing to wear that has seen its better days. With these new custom printed aprons, we will develop an identity and a sense of pride linked to our work site. Furthermore we strive to create individuals who are tolerant of others and ready to enter the workforce. Every dish that we prepare in our bistro is geared toward allowing students to gain independence not just within our bistro, but skills that will transfer to life skills while striving to improve the efficiency within our kitchen. Every bit will work toward the students' independence while promoting an identity for our student work site!
