My Students

All the students at my school deserve the best! I have some really amazing, dynamic third graders. That’s why I have decided to go to third grade with them. My students have a ton of personality. This group of students are incredible and deserve the best learning opportunities.

I work at a Title I school in Los Angeles.

That means a large portion of our population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch because of their socio-economic status. We are an environmental studies school.

My Project

I am requesting books for my students. The big goal of teaching is creating a love of reading. Sometimes we forget and think the big goal is being above the standard on a test. I would love to create a community of readers. As Maya Angelou said, “Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.” Having a library of high interest books will allow my students form a habit of reading. The books i have chosen are award winning and high interest books.
