My Project

My class is at an important time in their education. My focus is for them to be fluent readers and writers when they leave my class. In order to do that, I need resources that will create student buy-in. A major focus of first grade is learning phonics skills. We spend every day learning about how words are made. I requested a couple of skill-focused read-alouds to allow students to make a better connection to the phonics skill we are zooming in on. Also, giving my students hands-on centers, such as stamps, phonics games, and magnets, helps them practice.

Although we do have curriculum, oftentimes I have to supplement to meet students where they are at.

In my class, we love to do projects. Many of those projects can be enhanced with photos. Having the ability to print photos would be amazing.

All the other items are things that I use that often run out. Teachers can never have enough Astrobright paper, guided writing paper, and sentence strips.
